My inspiring thoughts for this poem were Isaiah 6:8 (God calling Isaiah) and Matthew 9:37-38 (Jesus calling for “laborers” to be sent into His “harvest”).<\/p>\n

\nWhere are the faithful messengers?
\nThey are, sadly, the faithful few;
\nThose who are willing to go beyond
\nWhat even they think they can do.
\nBefore them is a harvest of souls,
\nPeople ripe to be saved;
\nHow can they possibly touch them all?
\nThe lost in a land depraved
\nOf morality, faith and love;
\nReplaced by lust and greed,
\nTheir one hope is from above,
\nBut who will bring them God\u2019s decree?
\nWe have the chance to change
\nThe destiny of all;
\nBut who among all we that believe
\nWill answer the mighty call?
\nThe Church has seemingly gone away,
\nYet not, at last, gone above;
\nWe have, as John said of Ephesus,
\nAbandoned our first love.
\nSo let us go to the Lord, and in His blood be cleansed,
