Many years ago, I was in a foul mood and thought of all the things I didn’t have. Later, I realized what an unhealthy mindset this was and set out to think of everything I’ve been blessed with in my life; this poem is the results.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe blessings You\u2019ve given me\u201d (#12)
\nDear Lord, all that is good comes from You,
\nYour word and my life show that this is true.
\nEverything that is mine is a gift
\nFrom my Heavenly Father, whose name I am to lift
\nUp to the sky-and this is why:
\nHe gave me my clothing, my food and bed,
\nMy belongings and the roof over my head.
\nHe gave me my family, talents, and life,
\nAnd I pray He will someday give me a Christian wife
\nTo know and love like He does me from above.
\nBut, above all these things and more,
\nHe gave me His love, and a door
\nTo know Him personally through the death of His Son,
\nWho died for all people-every one.
\nOf all gifts, this is the greatest of all-
\nA new life in which for God we stand tall
\nAgainst the world\u2019s oppression in humility
\nAnd trusting God to use us as utility
\nTools to touch the people lost in sin,
\nAnd into the fold of God\u2019s love, bring them in.
\nMay this, Lord, be our rule:
