While not as prolific as in high school, I wrote poetry in college as well. In a way, this was my first foray into a more mature stage of writing.<\/p>\n
\u201cCut Off from the Touch of God\u201d
\nOh, how great is my misery, trying to scratch
\nA living out of the cursed sod,
\nWhen before I was living in the fulfilling,
\nLoving presence of the Almighty God.
\nWith Him, I had complete fellowship-
\nWe were together in all things.
\nBut I chose to walk away and follow my own way-
\nAnd I found out what suffering it brings.
\nThe worst of it was that I was cut off from God,
\nAnd so were all my children.
\nEven though God made a way for them to come back to Him,
\nToday, they still choose to follow the ways of men.
\nBecause of my choice-and theirs-whole nations today
\nAre filled with people cut off from their Heavenly Father
\nWho longs to be with them wherever they go,
\nBecause He loves them like no other.
\nBut He will not force them to come-
\nHe wants them to be with Him because they wish to be.
\nSo many today need the Lord in their lives,
\nBut they are blind to this, because they don\u2019t take Him seriously.
\nSo listen to His voice, children of God,
\nAnd follow every one of His commands.
\nLove Him and others more than yourself,
\nAnd make disciples of God in all lands.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
