This poem is practically concurrent with the first one; I wrote them during an outdoor session of Freshman Writing Seminar, fall of 2005. It was a powerful experience that I will never forget.<\/p>\n
Ah, how weak is the strength of those
\nWho choose to walk the righteous path;
\nWhen they stumble, often they become discouraged
\nOr at their own mistakes filled with wrath.
\nYet, there is a source of strength
\nUpon which they can totally rely;
\nThe Lord gives His followers strength to endure pain,
\nAnd courage enough to die.
\nIt is sad that so many today do not
\nGo to the Lord for their daily bread.
\nThey turn from He who can supply for every need,
\nAnd prepare them for trials ahead.
\nSo many starve and burn out in faith,
\nbecause they do not ask to be fed
\nBy the Heavenly Father-and unless they realize
\nTheir condition, they will eternally remain spiritually dead.
\nBut those in the Lord, as Isaiah said,
\nRenew their strength every day.
\nHe provides for our needs and guides our steps,
\nWalking with us every step of the Way.
\nSo remain in Him, children of God,
\nAnd He will remain in you.
\nWhen we are weak, He is strong;
\nSo let Him be your strength in all that you do.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
