{"id":285,"date":"2015-12-04T08:08:44","date_gmt":"2015-12-04T08:08:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/danielgaul.com\/?p=285"},"modified":"2015-12-04T08:08:44","modified_gmt":"2015-12-04T08:08:44","slug":"college-poem-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/danielgaul.com\/?p=285","title":{"rendered":"College Poem #3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I envisioned two different types of people who are separated from society &#8211; those who are shunned by others (people who &#8220;are cast out&#8221;), and those who choose to shun others (people who &#8220;cast themselves out&#8221;).  Isolation is the opposite of what God intended for us; therefore, we as Christians need to be reaching out to both &#8220;outcasts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo Outcasts\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The most commonly seen outcasts today are people whom others reject<br \/>\nBased upon a character trait or habit, or the inability to make their own image reflect.<br \/>\nOutcasts more often than not assemble in groups to gather comfort from each other.<br \/>\nSince they are separated from the world\u2019s \u201cnormal\u201d people, every outcast becomes a brother.<br \/>\nBut there is another, less-frequently seen outcast, those who distance themselves from everyone.<br \/>\nThey are isolated because they choose to be; they walk alone under the light of the sun.<br \/>\nBoth outcasts can be saved by the grace of God, made possible by the sacrifice of the Lamb upon the hill<br \/>\nOf Calvary-but if Christ\u2019s children do not reach out to those who need Him, then who will?<br \/>\nWe have been told many times before that it is better to give than to get.<br \/>\nSo, after receiving His everlasting grace, how can we the others who need Him forget?<br \/>\nSo pray that God would give you a heart like His own, and reach out in love that goes deeper than flesh and bone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I envisioned two different types of people who are separated from society &#8211; those who are shunned by others (people who &#8220;are cast out&#8221;), and those who choose to shun others (people who &#8220;cast themselves out&#8221;).
