{"id":469,"date":"2016-04-14T04:40:41","date_gmt":"2016-04-14T04:40:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/danielgaul.com\/?p=469"},"modified":"2016-04-14T04:40:41","modified_gmt":"2016-04-14T04:40:41","slug":"college-poem-24","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/danielgaul.com\/?p=469","title":{"rendered":"College poem #24"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This poem follows on the theme of the first, but additionally examines the lifelong journey of purification.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA Broken Vessel Made New\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lord, when all You created was shattered in the Fall,<br \/>\nWho knew that You would have a plan to reclaim and restore it all?<br \/>\nI was a broken vessel, infected by the virus of sin,<br \/>\nYet You shed Your blood willingly to cleanse me from all I had been.<br \/>\nYou took the broken shards of my heart and softened me like a potter\u2019s clay,<br \/>\nMaking me a new creation with Your blood that You shed on the cross, that I might say<br \/>\nThat in You, Jesus Christ, have I begun life anew. The process, however, has only begun;<br \/>\nSin still battles the change You forge to make me of God a son.<br \/>\nBut Lord, Your Word is my weapon and Your mighty presence my shield.<br \/>\nYou never allow more than I can take, and so unto You I yield.<br \/>\nI pray that I would abide in Your Word, so that more deeply in You I may grow.<br \/>\nMay Your Spirit be poured out on me, so that in my life, praises for You would grow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This poem follows on the theme of the first, but additionally examines the lifelong journey of purification. \u201cA Broken Vessel Made New\u201d Lord, when all You created was shattered in the Fall, Who knew that You would have a plan to reclaim and restore it all?
